A Frag Grenade or Auron's Banishing Blade Overdrive will work 100% of the time, and so are more effective to break its Break resistance. While Jormungand is not immune to Armor Break, it will only work 10% of the time. Using Hastega in conjunction with inflicting Slow will give the party even more turns. It is vulnerable to Slow, as well as all Breaks. Magic does not have much effect on Jormungand, so physical attacks should be used instead. Its equipment drops provide a hidden 6% critical hit chance bonus instead of the usual 3% (this is relevant to weapons and armor pieces, but only to attacks that deal physical damage). It drops weapons with any of the status strikes and armor pieces with any of the status proofs, with Stonestrike and Stoneproof as fixed abilities. ![]() Jormungand drops 3–4 slot equipment, 1–4 of them having abilities. Against aeons, Jormungand does not use Space-Time Vorpal. If a party member is petrified, Jormungand will prioritize attacking them. Space-Time Vorpal deals moderate damage to the whole party. ![]() So having Frag Grenades around is just kind of a fun bonus. But Auron’s Banishing Blade overdrive also inflicts Armor Break at near 100, and you can mix any two normal sphere items together with Rikku to get a Frag Grenade. Frag Grenades have their uses for speedruns and various niche things. Its normal attack is not too powerful, but Cold Stare deals damage and petrifies the target if the damage would KO the target, they will immediately shatter. Are Frag Grenades Worth It I’d say probably no, not really. Megalixir (Antidote + Silence Grenade): Fully restores the party’s HP and MP.Physical attack, Cold Stare, Space-Time Vorpal Battle Silence Buster (Aeon) requires x10 Silence GrenadesĪs per usual with any item, Rikku can also use her overdrive to mix Silence Grenades with other items to produce some neat results, including:įinal Phoenix (Mega Phoenix + Silence Grenade): Revives all KO’d party members– quietly.Ĭluster Bomb (Shining Gem + Silence Grenade): Deals a large amount of damage to all enemies. Can come out of the fight with enough Lv.3 Key Spheres to clear most (if not all) of the Lv.3 lock nodes on the grid. Silence Attack (Aeon) requires x3 Silence Grenades Kimahri is the best (and earliest) source of these key spheres, so get him to Steal and level him enough so you can draw out his forced-fight on Gagazet as long as you like.Silenceproof requires x10 Silence Grenades. You can purchase empty armor from O’aka XXIII’s brother, Wantz, in the Macalania Woods, but only if you spoke to him on your way past him along the Mt. Silencestrike requires x20 Silence Grenades Creating the best armor in Final Fantasy X is a process that involves gathering the raw materials and customizing an empty four slot armor.Conversely, these items can also customize Silenceproof onto Armor, which prevents the ailment nearly 100% of the time.Īeons can even get in on the mix and use Silence Grenades to learn both Silence Attack and Silence Buster. Silence Grenades can also be used to customize Silencestrike onto a weapon, which almost always applies Silence with physical attacks. This can be helpful against certain late-game enemies, especially spellcasters like Demonliths in the Omega Ruins. Using a Silence Grenade with the “Use” command deals minor damage to all enemies, as well as silencing them for eight turns or so. ![]() While fighting Anima, I summoned Shiva, and her Overdrive only did about. As expected, they’re used for a lot of silence-based things. This is my first time playing FFX and I am stuck on the first Seymour fight, so far Ive only tried the fight once, but I threw everything I had at the first 2 phases, especially Anima, and then Seymour absolutely wrecked me on the 3rd phase.
